Jake “The Snake” Roberts

Jake’s addiction was a result of a traumatic childhood. His father was not only physically abusive, but he also sexually abused Jake’s sister and had a history of pedophilia that included Jake’s mother, who was only 13 years old when she gave birth to him. In a desperate attempt to numb his pain, Jake turned to drugs and alcohol, leading him down a path of self-destruction.

Despite being a star of the 1980s wrestling scene, Jake’s addiction was spiraling out of control. He would show up to matches drunk or high and even disappear for days at a time. It wasn’t until he hit rock bottom that he realized he needed to make a change.
